Professional videos often contain client details, internal slides or the words of other speakers. Save and share only videos that you own, that your company is allowed to keep, or that the speaker has agreed to share with you. Never pass on confidential material.

Method 1: Look for the original file first
Most LinkedIn videos start as a file on someone's computer or phone. Check these places before you try anything else:
- The device or editing app you used to make the video.
- Your company shared drive or marketing folder, if a colleague edited it.
- The recording folder of your webinar or meeting tool, if you recorded a live session.
- The broadcasting tool you used for a LinkedIn Live, since many tools keep the recording.
The original has the best quality, because LinkedIn compresses uploads.
Method 2: Request a copy of your LinkedIn data
LinkedIn lets you request a copy of your data. Depending on what you ask for, it can include information about your posts and, in some cases, your media.
- Open Settings and go to the data privacy section.
- Choose the option to get a copy of your data.
- Select what you want, then request the archive.
- Wait for the email, then download the file.
The exact options and menu names can change, and not every video is included, so use this as a backup rather than your only plan.
Method 3: Save a public post with our downloader

The post is for connections only
Restricted posts cannot be processed. Use your original file or your data export.
The link does not work
Use Copy link to post. Links from a profile or a feed page may not point to the video.
My Live replay is not available yet
Replays take time to appear after a broadcast. Check again later.
The video comes from another website
If a post only embeds a video from another site, save it from that site if you own it.
Documents and carousels do not download as video
PDF documents and carousels are not videos. Download the original document from your files.
